Responsibilities
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for ownership of the timely and accurate processing of certain payments to financial intermediaries including commissions, 12b1, Plan Administration, Networking and others as necessary. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate dealer profile information in a moderately complex Access database used for payment and accrual processing ensuring compliance with contractual agreements. Additional responsibility will be supporting the Transfer Agent (TA) Control Accounting group, representing the TA in a variety of projects and initiatives. This position requires cross-organizational knowledge including TA, Investment Accounting and Treasury.



Principle Responsibilities
Ownership of accuracy and timely processing of certain payments as well as back for all others, including commissions, 12b1, plan admin and networking fees paid to financial intermediaries.
Accountable for maintaining accurate dealer profile information within TA2000 and Microsoft Access.
Subject matter expert on mutual fund payments to broker dealers understanding terms of the agreements and coordinating cross organizationally with Distributor Operations and the GCO for contractual interpretation.
Ownership of incoming broker dealer communication and support.
Responsible for activities related to operational change management as impacted by changing dealer agreements and business initiatives.
Responsible for the development and delivery of on-demand and scheduled queries and overall management of reporting information including information used in board reporting.
Perform fee analysis and controls including balancing to Investment Accounting.
Proactively analyze business processes identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Drive development of required test plans for projects impacting dealer payments, associates systems and downstream systems.
Liaison for internal partners including DMU, Investment Accounting, Service Delivery and TA Operations.
Development and maintain department procedures.
Monitoring the cumulative daily As Of gain(loss) materiality impacts to the RiverSource Mutual Funds and invoicing of billable losses to applicable broker/dealers.
Gather information for general ledger entries associated with as of losses.
Provide Subject Matter Expertise to business and technology resources through the project lifecycle including the development of requirements, User Acceptance Test plans, test conditions, testing functions, contributing to implementation planning and post-implementation tracking.
Supporting the TA Control Accounting group with monitoring, developing, updating and/or implementing applicable policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Subject matter expertise in the distribution of mutual funds, including understanding of various fees and commissions paid to financial intermediaries.
Strong Excel and Access skills.
Demonstrated problem solver with the ability to work cross organizationally
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to effectively influence peers and leadership.
Ability to execute multiple complex assignments within the established time frames and quality standards, while responding to immediate needs.
Detail orientated with the ability to methodically analyze and solve problems. Ability to recognize client sensitive situations and respond to or escalate issues as appropriate.
Ability to develop strong working relationships while demonstrating a high level of initiative.
Proactively identify solutions to business needs and recognize potential impacts to business processes.

Preferred qualifications
Knowledge of TA2000 and facilities associated with processing dealer payments is preferred but not required.
Financial accounting experience, including a working understanding of general ledger.
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining Microsoft Access databases.

Responsibilities
This is an opportunity to join a team of results-oriented analysts responsible for service and support in the RiverSource Service Corporation Transfer Agent. The Business System Analyst will need to leverage their leadership and analytical abilities while working across the organization with business and technical partners and our vendor partner, DST, to deliver the following job responsibilities, but not limited to:
Monitor and support the Transfer Agent Help Desk for all direct and indirect users of DST systems, i.e. TA2000, desktop applications, Automated Workflow Distributor (AWD), file transmissions between DST and RiverSource, etc.
Track, troubleshoot and resolve production support issues with established severity level response times.
Monitor and maintain the TA2000 facilities which govern the logic applied to processing of fund activity within TA2000.
Support the product rule change control process including the documentation of appropriate approvals and validations.
Maintain user access, password resets for TA2000/AWD and conduct Sarbanes Oxley testing.
Support the daily validation of price and rate entries transmitted to DST.
Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises.
Support Certificate System User Access oversight, rate entry, validation and Sarbanes Oxley testing.
Support ad-hoc query requests utilizing DST¿s PowerSelect reporting tool.
Support Work Requests, Enhancements and Projects within the Transfer Agent or across with the PMO, technology partners or vendor, DST, for delivery of business requirements, development and execution of test plans and communication as needed with all appropriate parties.
Qualifications
2 plus years business analyst experience; ability to research, analyze and make appropriate recommendations, escalate issues appropriately with the necessary impact assessment.
3-5 years financial services industry experience with an emphasis on mutual funds, Certificates and transfer agencies.
Understanding of the full project life cycle with 2 years experience using a formal project management methodology tool.
Ability to manage and contribute to multiple work assignments or projects and shift priorities to meet business needs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to deliver effective analysis and documented results.
Flexible work schedules to support business needs.
Ability to facilitate meetings and prepare and present materials.
Strong knowledge of DST Systems preferred.
