Responsibilities Analyst will: Participate on the ITASCA program continuing the implementing a new Ins & Annuity Policy Administration system. Become a technical expert on the AdminServer system and participate in design oversight of AdminServer and other vendor partner configuration. Contribute to building out the Ameriprise AdminServer Configuration practice through partnership with Technology, Business and Vendors. Technical Management -Understands technical standards and architectural design requirements. -Understands interfaces from application to application across the enterprise. -Serves as a focal point for integration of technology within and across capability domains. -Ensure bundle deliverables meet expectations regarding cost, schedule and scope. -Ensure bundle deliverables are aligned with POA architectural standards and deploy the appropriate reuse of common objects. -Participates in the development of requirements and estimates from a technical perspective. -Anticipate and promote technical uplift initiatives (upgrades, re-platform, etc). Vendor Management -Educates vendor(s) on changes to technical standards and architectural requirements. -Ensures vendor solutions meet technical standards, design and performance requirements. -Actively participates in design walkthroughs with the vendor(s). -Provide quality assurance on vendor deliverables to avoid impacts on existing applications and/or business processes. -Establishes a strong working relationship with vendor(s) through manufacturing phases of development. Relationship Management -Support Capability Domain Director in the development of strategic initiatives. -For business critical initiatives, leads the technical design development efforts with vendor support. -For production support, oversees the problem management process from a technical perspective and serves as a consultant to the vendor(s) for business critical issues. Responsibilities As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for ownership of the timely and accurate processing of certain payments to financial intermediaries including commissions, 12b1, Plan Administration, Networking and others as necessary. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate dealer profile information in a moderately complex Access database used for payment and accrual processing ensuring compliance with contractual agreements. Additional responsibility will be supporting the Transfer Agent (TA) Control Accounting group, representing the TA in a variety of projects and initiatives. This position requires cross-organizational knowledge including TA, Investment Accounting and Treasury. Principle Responsibilities Ownership of accuracy and timely processing of certain payments as well as back for all others, including commissions, 12b1, plan admin and networking fees paid to financial intermediaries. Accountable for maintaining accurate dealer profile information within TA2000 and Microsoft Access. Subject matter expert on mutual fund payments to broker dealers understanding terms of the agreements and coordinating cross organizationally with Distributor Operations and the GCO for contractual interpretation. Ownership of incoming broker dealer communication and support. Responsible for activities related to operational change management as impacted by changing dealer agreements and business initiatives. Responsible for the development and delivery of on-demand and scheduled queries and overall management of reporting information including information used in board reporting. Perform fee analysis and controls including balancing to Investment Accounting. Proactively analyze business processes identifying opportunities for process improvement. Drive development of required test plans for projects impacting dealer payments, associates systems and downstream systems. Liaison for internal partners including DMU, Investment Accounting, Service Delivery and TA Operations. Development and maintain department procedures. Monitoring the cumulative daily As Of gain(loss) materiality impacts to the RiverSource Mutual Funds and invoicing of billable losses to applicable broker/dealers. Gather information for general ledger entries associated with as of losses. Provide Subject Matter Expertise to business and technology resources through the project lifecycle including the development of requirements, User Acceptance Test plans, test conditions, testing functions, contributing to implementation planning and post-implementation tracking. Supporting the TA Control Accounting group with monitoring, developing, updating and/or implementing applicable policies and procedures. Qualifications Subject matter expertise in the distribution of mutual funds, including understanding of various fees and commissions paid to financial intermediaries. Strong Excel and Access skills.
