Responsibilities
The Senior Level Project Manager position will have responsibility for the overall success of the assigned project(s). Project management will include defining and achieving project objectives by effectively managing cost, schedule, scope, quality, risk and project resources over the duration of the assignment following appropriate methodology. In addition to your assignment(s), you will have the opportunity to be part of a team which will consult and drive strategic initiatives shaping the way Ameriprise Financial manages projects.

The Senior Level Project Manager is fully responsible for the overall success of their assigned project(s). They will perform the following tasks without direct supervision:

- Delivering the overall project
- Managing the project budget, schedule, scope, quality and risk to achieve a business objective
- Providing team members with the tools to complete their deliverables
- Analyzing project performance (timelines and dependencies) to implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Managing the project plan, resolving project issues, mitigating strategies for project risks, and managing project resources
- Providing work direction to team members
- Developing and tracking to the project charter
- Providing proactive project communication to the project owner and key stakeholders

The Senior Level Project Manager may work on both business and/or technical projects. The Senior Level Project Manager will work on a large project ($8 - 12 M) or multiple projects managing cross organizational and virtual teams.
Qualifications
Qualifications
-Minimum Required Experience 8-10 Years
-5+ Years Ameriprise or Financial industry experience
-PMP Certification strongly preferred, but not required

Must demonstrate proficient abilities in the following areas:
-Documenting: Compile and develop Quality Management System (QMS) and PM documentation for each Phase, with some coaching
-Organizing: Identifies and organizes resources
-Estimating: Estimate needed resources, milestones and budget
-Planning: Pre-QMS planning and project work plan
-Tracking & Monitoring: Monitor resources (including outtaskers), schedule, costs, and activities, linkages, issues, risks and project metrics
-Communication/Status Reporting: Develops project Communication Plan. Reports to stakeholders on project resources, schedule, costs, activities, linkages, issues, risks and project metrics.
-Effectively communicates to cross commits and business partners, Engagement leaders and outtasking partners.
-Risk & Issue Management: Develops a Risk management Plan, including identification, assessment and contingency management
-Change Control: Impact assessment, recommendation, alignment to project plan.

Standards & Techniques:
-Good working knowledge of QMS standards and deliverables based on project path.
-Compiles and publishes QMS deliverables. Knowledge of IT standards and strategy.
-Knowledge of Six Sigma methods and tools.
-Participation in QMS reviewer pool.
-Team Leadership: Provides task management, team motivation across project team and up through owner organization. Experience leading virtual project teams preferred.
-Provides alignment with business project team and cross-commits.
-Mentoring: Mentors, reviews work of entry to mid level PMs
-Experience leading large scale programs with multiple reporting PMs
-Ability to drive business results
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and challenge and influence as needed

Technical Tools
-Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Open Workbench, Clarity: Proven experience with all tools required. Preferred - AQMS

Opportunities to influence: Uses experience to make informed decisions. Takes customer requirements into account when carrying out work. Influences the project team (cross org.), project owners and project sponsors.
