Responsibilities
Ameriprise Financial is looking for a marketing research professional who can help drive the continued success of its marketing efforts. This individual will play a key role in the Customer Insights department of Ameriprise Financial in helping the company make fact-based, consumer-driven decisions that will positively impact the business and the brand. This position will play a consultative role within the organization by helping drive and evaluate our brand positioning and advertising efforts and other opportunities, from a consumer and advisor perspective. This is a rewarding and challenging position for an individual who has a genuine passion for the consumer, strong market research skills and the ability to generate insights and apply them to strategic business issues.

Key responsibilities of this position are:
- Play a consultative role with business leaders to determine where primary and secondary research will most appropriately help management achieve or measure success against business goals
- Lead development of the research learning agenda for our advertising and branding efforts
- Design and conduct research to meet business objectives for our advertising, brand and other efforts
- Generate insights and opportunities and deliver research-based recommendations to guide business decision-making on advertising and branding and other key initiatives across the organization
- Represent the voice of the consumer to business leaders along with other Customer Insights team members to help the organization become more consumer centric.
Qualifications
- BA/BS in market research, business, statistics, or social sciences; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant work experience in marketing research or brand planning in a variety of industries
- Extensive experience designing and analyzing a range of qualitative and quantitative research to influence strategy and initiatives, particularly in creative development and testing, brand and advertising tracking, brand equity, positioning development & testing, etc.
- Creative and innovative in utilizing a variety of new and existing research methods and ideas
- Proactive, flexible and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize and adjust as needed
- Is a persuasive, effective communicator to help promote consumer needs to the team and help promote a consumer-centered approach to business initiatives and issues.
- Exhibits a genuine passion for the consumer. Identifies and understands consumer needs and applies that to business issues and decisions.
