Responsibilities
Desire to work closely with a small hedge fund team with responsibilities ranging from administrative support to investment research/analysis.
Take ownership and responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the office.
Identify, investigate, and implement practices that continuously improve the work flow and general conditions of the office environment.
Act as office liaison for all corporate/business functions including but not limited to HR, compliance, marketing, building management, IT, telecom, and video conferencing
Coordinate timely preparation of marketing materials including attribution reporting for all prospect and client meetings.
Complete and manage all soft dollar requests for the team
Work with portfolio managers and an analyst to better understand critical industry and fundamental stock drivers
Update industry screens, gather monthly industry data, perform other ad-hoc data requests
As proficiency for role is developed assist with additional research roles including but not limited to: attend third-party sponsored events to gather information and summarizing for team, listen to company earnings calls and write summaries, and create/maintain financial models for stocks
Work with various company financial statistics, discerning key items from financial reports and reporting in summary to investment professionals
Back-up other Research Assistants when needed.
Qualifications
1-3 years Investment Research experience
Attention to detail, with strong communication skills, both written and oral
Basic experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Ability to efficiently and effectively manage calendars, correspondence, travel arrangements, expense reporting, supply management, and filing for small group of investment professionals
Ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with investment professionals, both internally and externally, as well as third party vendors and sell-side firms.
Ability to draw appropriate conclusions from industry and company trend information gained from a variety of sources and communicate succinctly to investment professionals
